The estuary and us.

We live by the water and the management of the estuary and its immediate surrounds affect us greatly. The management of the Exe Estuary is complex and involves numerous authorities and voluntary organisations meeting in a loose forum; EQRA maintains a watching brief and seeks to influence decisions and operating practices as appropriate. The docks are a separate entity run by a private company regarded as a competent harbour authority in its own right. The outcomes of recent legislation for the Exe are still awaited.  

The use of the foreshore greatly affects those who live nearby and great effort continues to be devoted to protecting the interests of those residents whilst accepting and furthering the rights of those, both residents and visitors, who wish to enjoy the beaches and the water.
